Thinksoft & BIM launch Software Testing course Thinksoft Global Services, independent software testing service company, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Bharathidasan Institute of Management (BIM), a B-school in Tamil Nadu,South India for offering a course in 'Application Software Testing'.
Announcing this in Chennai,India, Thinksoft CEO and Founder-Director, Asvini Kumar said a gap existed between technical delivery capability and the end user. The MoU would not only bridge the gap, but also enable the growth of the domain service industry.
Terming the MoU as path breaking, BIM Director, M Shankaran said the effort would be a trendsetter and a model for all other B-schools to emulate.Lauding Thinksoft for sharing its knowledge base, Shankaran said this was unusual as companies were usually reluctant to share their core competencies. "This model should be a forerunner for all other top B-schools to emulate, if they are serious about reducing the gap between the inputs given in the schools and their relevance to the industry".
Thinksoft Executive Director Vanaja Arvind said the company, catering to the increasing demand for specialised testing services in banking, financial services and insurance sector spaces, did not want to be an also-ran information technology service comp any. Stating that the testing business offered a phenomenal opportunity, Arvind said several companies were looking at testing as a serious line of business.
As Thinksoft had been operating in the testing space for over a decade, it had been able to fine-tune the course to meet the needs of the aspirants. BIM students, pursuing MBA in systems, would be able to take up this course as an elective, involving at least 30 hours of classroom sessions. Also, there was no additional cost involved for the course to be conducted by Thinksoft faculty.
Thinksoft had been growing at a compounded annual growth rate of 35 per cent over the last four years and had footprints in New York, London, Singapore, Bangalore, Chennai and Mumbai.
