Asvini Kumar - Founder Director and CEO
With an MBA from one of India's Top Business schools, Asvini has many years of experience in the IT services business, including 15 years as an entrepreneur. He has successfully pioneered the outsourced independent domain focused test services model to help Global 500 firms like Citi Group to improve quality, compress timelines and lower costs, thereby boosting returns from existing IT services budgets.
An alumnus of the Osmania University and IIM, Bangalore (1981), Asvini co-founded and ran a startup for 2 years (1981-83), before moving to IIM - B for a year to set up and upgrade their student and faculty computing facilities. He subsequently had a 4-year stint with PSI Bull as Product Support Manager handling large clients like ONGC. He founded Thinksoft with the objective of providing value added IT consulting services, mainly in the areas of requirements testing, documentation and domain consulting. In 1998, his pioneering efforts towards creating an India-based independent test service model was proved a success, when Citi Group became the first client to use Thinksoft's India based test centers in one of its large Global flagship projects. In mid-1998, Asvini reorganized Thinksoft as a company. In early 2000, a UK based venture fund backed Thinksoft's growth plans, thus propelling it as a Global player in its chosen area.
A recipient of many academic scholarships and professional awards, Asvini lives in Bangalore with his wife and son. He is an avid reader. He also likes to swim, trek, and listen to music.
Vanaja Arvind - Executive Director
During many of her 20 years in IT, Vanaja Arvind has campaigned to bring about improvements in quality and productivity management, project risk management and related areas, as director of an ISP pioneer, an IT shop, at Citibank and IBM Global Services and since 2000 as Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of Thinksoft, a Business Requirements Assurance services company based in India.
She initially worked for a South India based financial services company and then moved on to running her own software consulting firm for a few years before joining Citibank in 1990 as a Project Manager. She chalked up an outstanding string of achievements during her time with Citibank, including spearheading efforts to obtain the SEI CMM level 3 assessment for the Citibank India Technology group. She has also worked with IBM Global Services as Head, Quality, and helped it achieve CMM Level 4 certification in record time. Her last assignment at IBM Global Services, India was as Country Manager. As Thinksoft's Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer and as a member of its Board of Directors, she participates and contributes to shape its corporate strategy, HR and compensation policies, financial planning, and governance norms. She also oversees HR, Processes, Tools and Technology, as well as the company's UK and European businesses.
She lives in Chennai with her husband and enjoys spending her personal time with her canine friends. A keen practitioner of yoga, she also enjoys baking specialty breads.
Mohan Parvatikar - Independent Director
Mohan holds an engineering degree from IIT - Delhi and an MBA from IIM, Bangalore. He has extensive experience in the Finance sector, having worked for India's largest banks - State Bank of India and one of its largest finance corporations - ICICI. He started his own brokerage firm in 1987 and became a member of Bangalore Stock Exchange.
In addition to overseeing the Finance and Board related matters for the group. Mohan is a member of the Thinksoft Governance Council.
Mohan's other interests include application of quantitative techniques, simulation and modelling of financial systems.
Vinod Ganjoor - Investor Director
Vinod Ganjoor is the CEO of Eurindia, an early-stage India-Europe Venture fund operating out of offices in London and Bangalore.
An MBA from the University of Massachusetts, Boston, USA and a Masters in Finance from the London Business School, Vinod Ganjoor has over 15 years of professional experience as a Venture Capitalist, Credit/ Bond Analyst and Corporate Banker. He began his career in India, working for Bank of America after which he worked as a senior credit analyst with Standard Chartered Bank in its Middle East regional headquarters. His role involved providing leveraged lending to small, high-growth enterprises.
Subsequently, he worked with Deutsche Bank in London as a senior analyst in the media, technology and consumer sectors. His assignments have included corporate analysis and structuring, advising companies on their corporate and financial strategies; and dealing with a broad base of lenders and equity and bond investors.
Bharath Dorairaja - President (Sales & Marketing)
With over 30 years of experience at leadership positions in Software Service Delivery, Sales and Marketing for IT organizations. Bharat created India's first packaged software company - Sonata in 1986, He has also set up the Sales Organization for an ERP, building a customer base of 120 from 2 in a span 40 months. N Vaidyanathan - Chief Financial Officer
Joined Thinksoft in September 2005. A Chartered Accountant and Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, NV has more than 28 years of professional experience. His track record is based on solid experience with multinational organizations like GEC Alsthom, Castrol Ltd. Guest Keen Williams (GKW), Binnys and the
Nagarjuna Group. Prior to Joining Thinksoft Global Services NV had a long stint with Polaris Software Lab Ltd where he served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Finance Offi cer. He has seen Polaris grow from a small company to the size it is today and thus brings a lot of crucial experience and knowledge which is sure to help us in our own growth. During the course of his career NV has straddled strategic and operational responsibilities in Financial Planning, Treasury, Tax, Compliance, Systems & Processes, handled the IPO, Part of M&A Team. He is keen on music and likes visiting friends.
Sankaran V - Delivery Head
Senior Professional with over 30 years of rich and varied experience in the Banking Industry. Has worked as a senior functionary in the largest commercial Bank of India. Has significant exposure to key banking domains, both in planning and operations and has held very critical positions. Has over 10 years of experience in handling various IT Projects in the Bank. Key among them are putting in place processes and methodologies for end-to-end management of the Bank's aggressive core banking project. Was involved in the entire project life cycle, covering gap analysis, drawing up of functional specifications, customization of the software, User Acceptance Testing, integration of channel banking through on-line, real-time interfaces, process changes, roll-out, training, and change management. Also involved in setting up MICR centre's for the Bank. The Core Banking Project with its aggressive roll-out at 3,000 branches of the Bank, was a one of its kind project and was one of largest such roll outs in the country. Quality assurance and user comfort through a rigorous software testing process, bug fixes, functionality enhancements and mid-course corrections were areas of expertise gained over a four year period of driving this ambitious project. Put into place logistics and linkages towards successful roll-out and aggressive scaling up. Conceptualised and implemented a robust Service Desk (Help Desk) for Core Banking, ATM and Internet Banking Projects. Has also ensured development and implementation of a highly user-friendly and interactive e-Learning Solution for the Core Banking Project.
